The Alerta Sensaflex 300 is a very high risk memory foam cushion with a high density base, foam centre and a castellated gel memory foam top. The cushion provides effective comfort, care and pressure redistribution for users in hospital, nursing and care home environments.
To launder the cover in a washing machine, set the main wash to 65oC for no less than 10 minutes or 95oC for no less than 3 minutes. The cover can be tumble dried on low heat and the temperature must not exceed 60oC. The foam can be autoclaved at 134oC

Gel Memory Foam Top for Comfort
The top of the Sensaflex pillow is made of a gel memory foam moulds to the user to provide comfort and support. It spreads weight evenly and gently to minimise the effects of pressure.
What Is the Benefit of Castellated Foam?
The foam in this pressure relief cushion is castellated, which means it has grooves that help to provide more effective pressure care. The castellation improves pressure relief by allowing small sections of the cushion’s foam to move with the patient to reduce friction forces, and also opens up pockets of air flow to cool the patient from underneath and reduce the risk of the formation of sweat and moisture.
Is This Product Tested for Fire Safety?
All components of Alerta’s pressure relief products are tested to comply with BS7177: Crib 5 fire safety regulations. This means that all foam and covers for Alerta cushions are tested and compliant to the most stringent fire safety guidelines.
Is This Cushion Supplied with a Cover?
To improve durability and quality of care, this cushion is fitted with a multi-stretch and waterproof cover. This vapour-permeable PU cover is antimicrobial, to reduce bacteria and odour, and fully machine-washable to make maintaining hygiene easier.
Cleaning Instructions
- Cushion:
- Clean using single use wipe or damp cloth and a solution of mild detergent and neutral water
- Rinse thoroughly with clean water
- If cushion is heavily soiled, 0.1% (1000ppm) chlorine solution and cold water can be used
- Cover:
- Machine wash at 65°C for no less than 10 minutes, or at 95°C for no less than 3 minutes
- Can be tumble dried on low heat, temperature must not exceed 60°C
- The foam is suitable to be autoclaved at 134°C.
